Plut\u00f4t que de prendre en consid\u00e9ration toutes les informations disponibles, notre cerveau filtre ce qu&rsquo;il consid\u00e8re comme non pertinent. Ce qui est filtr\u00e9 diff\u00e8re donc en fonction de la fa\u00e7on de penser et des habitudes d&rsquo;un individu. Ainsi, les personnes ayant des modes de vie diff\u00e9rents ne vivent pas une m\u00eame situation de la m\u00eame mani\u00e8re.<\/p>\n<p>Nous avons tendance \u00e0 laisser nos priorit\u00e9s d\u00e9cider de ce qui retient notre attention. Cela nous rend plus enclins \u00e0 croire des id\u00e9es qui peuvent ne pas \u00eatre prouv\u00e9es. Par exemple, les angoisses li\u00e9es \u00e0 la sant\u00e9 conduisent souvent les gens \u00e0\u00a0surestimer la probabilit\u00e9 que leurs sympt\u00f4mes soient le r\u00e9sultat d&rsquo;une maladie en particulier. En effet, en se focalisant trop sur les probl\u00e8mes m\u00e9dicaux, ils sont moins susceptibles de prendre en compte des explications alternatives. <a href=\"http:\/\/citeseerx.ist.psu.edu\/viewdoc\/download?doi=10.1.1.887.8118&amp;rep=rep1&amp;type=pdf\">Une \u00e9tude de 2016<\/a>\u00a0a aussi trouv\u00e9 une corr\u00e9lation entre le fait d&rsquo;\u00eatre optimisme et la pr\u00e9sence d&rsquo;un biais d&rsquo;attention \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9gard des mots positifs.
